There's probably a filter in sqwebmail that rejects IDs with quotes in them. But, in any case, nobody's going to bother looking at the ancient version of Courier that you're running.

Understood. I was only using that late a version because that is what was bundled with my distribution. I have since downloaded and compiled courier-0.53.3 and it is exhibiting the same behavior.

'a filter in sqwebmail that rejects IDs' is a vague restatement of the problem without any useful information so I'm not sure how to use that part of your reply.

Now; 'there is an arbitrary filter that has nothing to do with authentication and violates RFC2822 ' would be much more informative. Or maybe even better (now that's we're imagining helpful responses) would be an addendum that 'courier is not supposed to adhere to the spec'.

I do appreciate the effort though. Thanks.
