Or: read user * * -//... write user dev1 * //dev1/... write user dev2 * //dev2/... write user dev3 * //dev3/... super user perforce * //...

I would also suggest reading the following link regarding "Preventing Creation of New Users." http://www.perforce.com/perforce/doc.011/manuals/p4sag/03_superuser.html#104 6585

Try doing read user dev1 * -//... read user dev2 * -//... read user dev3 * -//... write user dev1 * //dev1/... write user dev2 * //dev2/... write user dev3 * //dev3/... super user perforce * //...

That should do it. The latter will overwrite the former.

Hi all here are some questions I would like to ask you I hope you don't mind

I have created four users. The perforce super user and per partner developer team one user dev1 dev2 dev3 Now I have created depots per partner So i have three depots called //dev1/... //dev2/... //dev3/...

Now I will associate the user names with the depots. Is this the smart way to do it?

I created the following entry with p4 protect Protections: write user dev1 * //dev1/... write user dev2 * //dev2/... write user dev3 * //dev3/... super user perforce * //...

I hope this prevents them to look at others code, or not? Obviously it doesn't

I created the following P4USER=dev1 P4PASSWD=dev1 P4CLIENT=dev1-proj1

What I get is: View: //depot/... //dev1-proj1/depot/... //dev1/... //dev1-proj1/dev1/... //dev2/... //dev1-proj1/dev2/... //dev3/... //dev1-proj1/dev3/...

But I don't want this. I want that dev1 a) can only see the dev1 depot b) that the path is //dev1/dev1-proj1 and not //dev1-proj1/dev1

Any idea Thanks
