You need an explorer plugin for that task. I wrote a very simple one some time ago, its in use at our company. The code is based on a plugin sample from codeguru... The nice thing about these plugins is, that they also are active within file open/save dialogs so you can checkout files directly when opening/saving files.

Can you explain how to do this? We have some people who will soon be using Perforce and who are currently accustomed to working in Windows Explorer. P4WIN would be overwhelming for their needs. If I can just add a few custom P4 menu items to Explorer, that would do the trick for them. Thanks.
