I am pleased to announce I have a genious amongst the work place and he knew what the problem was and has corrected it. I will be documenting the procedures (I believe there are 2 fixes, one requiring rebuilding PHP from source, and one using a script). I will not name him as I do not know if he wants his name out here. Bottom line, I can now pull in e-mail from an SSL enabled IMAP server. Will post more after documenting.
