Our apologies if this has caused an inconvenience for you. This is a known bug that we are trying to fix asap.
Could you try these things in this order: 1) Completely close all instances of Firefox, then reopen Docs. (sounds like you may have done this already) 2) Restart your machine and try again 3) Go to your Google Gears cache directory ( http://code.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=82853&topic=11630) and delete the whole folder then try again.
Could you report if any of these work for you?

I've just installed Google Gears 0.3.14.0 on an XP Pro machine running Firefox 2.0.0.14 to try and get my documents working offline. I've enabled the offline setting in docs and all the logs and so on indicate that everything is working well.
If my browser is open on docs and I disconnect from the internet I can access the offline content. If I close the browser and then try to open it again while offline I can log into the offline docs however I just get a loading message and nothing appears.
Have a missed the point somewhere along the line here or is someone else experiencing similar problems.
