Hi, Thanks for your reply.

I don't see any errors in my build. Also I see it installs a bunch of headers and libs and stuff when I do a "make install". However, these sqlplus.hh file (and the *.hh files) are still missing. It however installs files such as (chardefs.h, my_alloc.h, my_list.h ..) under /usr/local/include/mysql.

Furthermore, the data base is working for me, for command line commands, ie, I can create, query, a data base command-line.

For a different project requirement I'd like to keep the gcc version as it is.

Is there a mysql version you could recommend for gcc 2.96 ? Also, should this tarball contain all the support for c++ programming, or is that coming from another installation ? I very much *suspect* now that may be the case, since my builds are very clean.

Thank you very much for your time, and help ?

Mike

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I am still having this problem.

I first tried the rpm, and then tried downloading sqlplus 4.0.17 tar ball. What I did was, ./configure ./make ./make install

I don't find these header files anywhere in the system. Drives me crazy : )

My system is, RedHat Linux 7.1 , gcc 2.96.

Thanks in advance for your help.

2.96 is not supported but there are some releases that work.

To find your files, run:

find /usr -name 'sqlp*'
