Would like to be able to set my user preferences such that iGoogle will start with sections collapsed.
I have over ten sections(tabs) with approximately ten gadgets per section and to reach the last section I must page down several pages. I would prefer having all sections show collapsed and open the appropriate section without having to page to it.
I can understand how some folks that have one or two sections would want to start with the gadget detail displayed and avoid the extra step of clicking on a section header to get to their favorite gadgets but I find all the paging up and down to reach the proper section or gadget a bit of a pain.
Thanks, Michael

Regarding this... I always disliked the fact that tabs could not be sorted. Now that this is moving to the left nav, will we be able to sort them?
I imagine this working similarly to Orkut, where you can drag and drop the links to the applications in the left nav.

Hi Bob,
Yes, the tabs at the top of the main content section will disappear, and they will be replaced with the sections in the left navigation.
Best, Dan

Is it also safe to say that tabs (on iGoogle) will now officially be gone... and in its place, the navigation to the left?

Hi Samuel,
The OpenSocial API that is supported within the sandbox is a superset of the gadgets API. Developers can happily write gadgets for the sandbox that only use the gadgets.* features of the API and not use any OpenSocial features at all, so the gadgets API will continue to be used and will remain an integral part of gadgets.
Developers can also continue writing gadgets using the legacy API (functions beginning with _IG_), as that will also be supported. However, the cutting-edge, the newest features will be part of the OpenSocial and gadgets.* APIs.
I hope that clarifies things a little bit.
Best, Dan

With the advent of the new iGoogle, should we begin using the OpenSocial API or will the gadgets "API" continue to be used?
