i already spend more than a day with it.

The problem is that porting everything is a huge task and given the limited resources we have we were not able to do so in the past. And if we upgrade to the latest libs now, we have to do it again in a year from now. Even if the new libs give us nothing worth upgrading in terms of stability and functionality. So we really need to find a permanent solution for this.

if there is not working on the latest windows what are you doing? imho the same should have to do on linux:-) make these apps to work on all latest distro or at least the major ones. imho it's a shame that mysql's tools not working on the latest majod linux distro while it's working on the latest windows.

We do welcome patches but there are some limitations on the copyright stuff, the same thing as for the server. But I guess the first major step needs to be done from our side so it fits with our current development and your patches can be permanently included.

i'll send it, but that's not my major problem and my time is limited:-(

Thanks for pushing for it. It is very important and the more people we get requesting it the sooner this will happen.

now i request it!

We will keep you updated on the status of this.

thanks.
