Do these clusters have to be on the same subnet or can they be one different networks.

So has anyone had any experience synchronizing multiple physical locations with the mysql cluster. I would like to be able to fail over to the other site and all of the data be there already. Any ideas for how to do this in mysql or a 3rd party application?
