I saw this in the feature request list, and it's probably the same as the one I added above it:

Feature Request: Post to default Blogger gallery and return link Short rationale: Allow clients using the Blogger and Picasa apis to create posts which use the same type of link as those uploaded through the Blogger admin interface. Votes: +1/-0

Just wanted to get an idea why this is not possible and whether it's something we can expect soon, as it's a major obstacle for any desktop client trying to post text with images through the new Blogger GData api, as it makes it impossible to accurately replicate the results of using the web client.
