Dear Homepage API fans,

First off, thanks!! so much for your support-- the Homepage API has really taken off and thanks to you there are lots of great modules, from maps mashups to search frontends to strangely addictive games.

Since the launch, we've of course been busy fixing bugs, but I also wanted to tell you know about some important features and changes, many in response to your suggestions!

module directory (http://www.google.com/ig/directory) - many more modules posted, including inlined modules - RSS output: add &output=rss to the URL. - search engine improvements, including support for negative keywords. - module metadata is now hosted by google, providing faster performance and eliminating broken images.

core changes and important bugfixes: - inlined modules now work better, offering a single click for users to opt-in to your inlined modules. Use render_line="required" to access this feature. - client (browser) caching for _IG_FetchContent() requests for faster performance. - NXSL library released, making it easier to turn XML data into modules. see http://www.google.com/apis/homepage/guide.html#NXSL for an example.

modules stored in Google Base: - Google Base now provides instant publishing & editing-- no more delay! - escapification bugfix -- we fixed a bug where modules stored in Google Base weren't able to be rendered. sorry!

Although there's a lot more in the works, we also would love to hear from you-- feel free to send us your feature suggestions and design change requests to home@google.com, or post them to the group for discussion.

keep up the good hack, adam
