Hahaha... We are currently on the warpath to get this crap off of our
network. I'm compiling my own list of things to do just that.
I'll take a stab at it.
1) Offline address books (useless) (although there are pab's on exchange,
not sure about IMAP)
2) Scheduling and appointmenting
3) Retention of messages ?
4) A profile that goes with you from box to box (MUCH better than using
the Internet *sarcasm*)
5) Built in OS authority. (shudder)
5) Add yours here.
They do of course force everything on you and make it easier for
"everyone" at a huge expence and make it tough for the other guy. The one
login thing is the thing I think motivates these people (And the lack of
a good Intranet hehe.) Osama? bin Gates III
Thanks,
Steve
PS I just got done with a decent front-end if you want to dump your
weenders werkstation for linux and use the pop only version that I
have for your web server on your local (linux) box ;-)

do a search in the perl area for "pop". It's called "popdot".

Our Headquarters in Norway is forcing us to migrate to a Exchange server.
They say that will be better for the user because of the single logon an
others things the exchange server does and the Linux+IMAP dos not.
I am not familiar with the exchange server, any one knows what kind of
things that are not possible todo with the IMAP?
The Active Directory of windows is based in LDAP, any one knows a way to
authorize imap users against it?
Help me to free the world from the hands of Microsoft....
