I'm using the Postfix mailbox_command to call maildrop; each user owns their own mail folders.

As I read it under "virtual shared folders", _all_ mailboxes on the system are supposed to be under a single uid so that imapd can handle access control and manage shared folders - or just the virtual mailboxes have one uid ?

How are other users expected to manage a shared mailbox, short of giving write access to everyone ?

What's the proper way to handle this ? Ideally, would like to have maildrop deliver directly to the cur/ directory and skip new/ altogether and not worry about it.

Mail cannot be delivered directly to a filesystem-based shared folder. Filesystem-based shared folders are used to move messages between individual accounts.
