There is no such option: --enable-maildropldap

what does maildrop -v say?

I took the --enable-maildropldap from Ralf Hildenbrandt and Patrick Koetter's book on Postfix, which appears to be describing an earlier version of maildrop. Or I botched the configure statement.

mail01# maildrop -v maildrop 2.0.3 Copyright 1998-2005 Double Precision, Inc. GDBM extensions enabled. This program is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. See COPYING for additional information.

maildrop was not compiled against courier-authlib, so it knows nothing about your LDAP configuration.

Look at the output of maildrop's configure script, and the config.log files, to figure out why you did not get courier-authlib support.
