OP has no problem using cron, sed, dos2unix or whatever unix tool. However these days OP has users who are too stupid to edit a file in a unix terminal, and OP uses maildrop as default delivery agent and advertizes changing a '0' in a '1' in a local default .mailfilter file for a vacation solution. And OP thought it is a bit stupid for maildrop to fail on DOS-formated files. There is sometimes a mail before cron kicks in, right?
