I telnet to courier-imap and I always get a Login failed.

1) Whether authuserdb is configured at all. Run authinfo to find out.
2) Whether you're providing the correct userid and password. Whatever you
entered into userdb, that's what you will use to log in. If you entered
"userid@domain", you must log in as "userid@domain". If you entered just
"userid", you must log in as "userid".
3) Whether the login home directory and maildir exists, and has correct
ownership and permissions that match the record in userdb.
4) Whether you've run makeuserdb.
