When you dereference the URI you get back a representation with some data about the thing the URI denotes. I don't think you need any other URI unless you also want to assign a URI to the representation itself.

In the case where you want, or already have, a URI assigned to the representation; an appropriate Content-Location header in the response is the best way forward.
