Organizing Committee members the 2003 Open Forum on Metadata Registries,
Planning is well along for Open Forum 2004. Could you help to notify potential participants? This message contains text for an email call for participation for Open Forum 2004. Could you tailor this message and send it to the distribution lists that you used last year? The message below is also attached as a file.
I will also send out a message (Call for Participation) to the participants and others interested in last year's Open Forum.
Thanks.
Bruce Bargmeyer
-----------------
You are invited to participate in the International Open Forum on Metadata Registries, this year titled: The Open Forum for eBusiness and Metadata Technology Standardization, to be held May 17-10, 2004 in Xian, China.
This is the seventh in a series of international conferences about topics related to metadata registries. (Last year the Open Forum was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.) Participants will explore the capabilities, uses, content, development, and operation of registries and related technologies. Emphasis is on the management of metadata for eBusiness and eGovernment.
This Open Forum will concentrate on the following technologies:
o ISO/IEC 11179 Metadata Registries o Model Driven Architecture o ebXML o MetaModel Facilities o Case studies o Terminology/Ontology/Concept Structures
These technologies help enterprise managers to manage their data, information systems and information services. The conference will gather standards developers, software developers, and practitioners in these fields to demonstrate accomplishments and to discuss current and future efforts.
An initial web site is available at www.metadata-standards.org/OpenForum2004
An official web site will be opened soon by the host in China.
The Open Forum is being organized by leaders from standards bodies, government, private enterprise, and academe. See the Call for Participation menu item on the web site for a complete list.
The host for the meetings is the China National Institute of Standardization
The sponsors are:
ebXML Asia
and the
International Organization for Standardization / [1]International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) [2]Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC 1) [3]Subcommittee 32 - Data Management and Interchange (SC32) [4]Working Group 2 - Metadata (WG2)
