I don't know your role in the maildrop project, but I see your email address is from the courier-mta.com domain, so is this an official position? In other words, is it pointless to continue on with well reasoned arguments in favor of adding this capability? Regardless, I

maildrop is Sam's own baby. As a newbie to maildrop, it would perhaps be better if you held your fire until you'd read and thoroughly understand all of the docs. As with most front-line utilities, thousands have been there before you and the answer to almost any question you could care to put is in the docs or in the mailing list archives.

maildrop will create home and subdirectories on the fly, if you tell it to. Sam was giving you a tongue-in-the-cheek answer, since that was what your posting merited ;)
