In Advanced account settings for IMAP:

Leave "IMAP server directory" empty

If you use "INBOX" as a value for that option, folders in the "INBOX" namespace are displayed at the same level as Inbox in TB's folder list.

Uncheck "Show only subscribed folders"

Good idea.

Check "Server supports folders...."

That should be the default.

Uncheck "Use IDLE..."

Unless IDLE is broken on your server (as some people report that it is on FC3), IDLE works very well in TB, and provides faster reporting of mailbox changes like new messages. I'd leave that option checked.

Check "Allow server to override these namespaces" (at the bottom).

OK back to t-bird. Quit t-bird, and start it again.

In addition to those options, set "maximum ... connections to cache" to 2 or 3.
