I've added --enable-userdb to the Makefile for maildrop, and maildrop reports:

# maildrop -v maildrop 1.5.2 Copyright 1998-2003 Double Precision, Inc. GDBM extensions enabled. Virtual user database extension enabled.

I'm able to access my 'virtual account' email via IMAP (using courier-imap) so I'm guessing that's a good enough indicator that my userdb is ok. But I still can't get maildrop to recognise my virtual users in userdb. Are there any other conditions that will trigger the 'Invalid user specified' error that I should be checking for?

I thought it was slightly interesting that the FreeBSD port doesn't make any allowance for defining the option for --enable-userdb and I'm wondering whether this is an indicator that it just doesn't work under FreeBSD?

Anyway, grateful for any pointers.

Thanks,

Wayne
