That's why I said the "usual" Java cases. Not the uncommon ones :-)

Ummm. No. That's what got this started. Default may not be arbitrarily placed w.r.t. other cases and, if I understood the discussion, an omitted "break" between cases does _not_ do the same thing.

So I don't see why we would not be allowed to use the same syntax, to ease the transition for Java developers.

Well, that's the point. It doesn't really ease, it misleads.
