getmail is very easy to find and config.. all you have to do is look for getmail, not maildrop... it is documented *both* in the readme files and the sample config file of getmail that is in the getmail dir when you install it... *or* you could go on Charles' site, and just look

Well, I did read all of the documentation on Charles' site and I didn't see a readme in the getmail directory. I looked at the sample getmail file and did not see an example there where it calls an external program. The examples all show how to have getmail put mail into another directory, which works great. I just didn't see anywhere that mentioned in the docs about calling an external program and being a Linux newbie using the carrot before the command I didn't know about either (granted that's my ignorance, but still could have been nice to have an example of that).

I believe by default, maildrop will seek a Maildir format, and it appears you have mbox format with Mail. I am not sure (or care) if maildrop can use mbox.

hmmmm maybe I'm calling the mailboxes incorrectly? As far as I know all the folders are in Maildir format, since that's what Sylpheed is using and I can see all the mail files in each of the directories.
