Subject:[courier-users] sqwebmail "shell-init: could not get current directory"Actions...

Here's a slightly strange one: I'm running sqwebmail-3.4.0.20021124 under Solaris 2.8. When I do a global address book search, I get back the following error:

Search Results

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- shell-init: could not get current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent
directories: Permission denied

but then it's followed by the correct search results. I can't find any reference to shell-init or "could not get" in the source, and I can't see why getcwd would fail anyway.

If I remember rightly, older versions of sqwebmail used to give a different error at this point (something like "cannot set locale") so it is conceivably an internationalisation issue.

In /etc/TIMEZONE I have:

TZ=GB CMASK=022 LC_COLLATE=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_MESSAGES=C LC_MONETARY=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_NUMERIC=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_TIME=en_GB.ISO8859-1

(all of those were installation defaults, except I changed TZ=GMT to TZ=GB to get local times)

Any ideas where I should be looking?

Regards,

Brian.
