Dec 2 10:26:21 honker courierd: started,id=0000E495.3FCCBD2D.00002488,from=<jnel@jamponi.net>,module=esmtp, host=domain.com,ba@domain.com,addr=<fo@domain.com,ba@domain.com>

^^^^ Why does this line show ba@domain.com after the host= part?

Because that's how the address was parsed.

OK. However, 'mailq' did not, at any point, show this message. I had to manually remove the message (I suppose I could have used cancelmsg from the information from the logs, but I forgot). Why would mailq not have shown the message?

Dunno. Need more details.

mail -s 'subject here' fo@domain.com,ba@domain.com ...

Questions: 1. What went wrong?

Probably the usage of the mail command wasn't quite right.

2. why is 'ba@domain.com' after the host= line

Because that's how the broken address was parsed.
