OASIS will maintain a permanent archive of TC docs, lists, etc when a TC shuts down. Essentially we just "freeze" the Kavi group; nothing more can be added, but we don't delete anything.

Most TCs maintain one or more issues lists on various aspects of their work. I don't see any real benefit to centralizing them, especially since they may go in and out of existence according to the needs of the TC.
However, your question does raise an important unresolved issue. What happens after a TC goes out of existence? There is a considerable body of opinion that holds that TCs should do their work and go away and not become permanent, self perpetuating bodies. However, after a TC shuts down, what happens to questions, comments, bug reports, errata, documents, archives, identifiers, etc.?

A Question:
My Committee, the XSLT / XPath Conformance TC, has produced a conformance test suite comprising several thousand test cases. From time to time we get questions or comments regarding these tests. We keep track of these and attempt to resolve the issues raised, in much the same way that a software development group keeps track of bugs.
My question: do other committees have a need to track issues, and do you believe it would be useful for OASIS to provide a central / standard way to deal with these?
Thoughts / comments?
Thanks,
jeff kenton
