thanks to you both just looking at the motherboard and Graphic card... What's the SLI bit mean? Should I aim to have it on the card or not, and if I do, will it help?

The K7S5A motherboard springs to mind, try googling it, I honestly ended up soldering resistors to several of these motherboards to make them more stable (they still weren't perfect) or they else they just forgot the time, how much memory they had, that they had USB ports, etc...

Horrid, nasty, cheap bits of junk...
