I am seeing this message on incoming emails to one of my users. I cannot find any permission problems in his directory. Where can I look? I need to figure this out ASAP. I've got over 200 message waiting for delivery to this user at the moment. I searched through the archives, but did not find any suggestions other than maildir permissions.

Courier versions: courier-0.46-1.2 courier-maildrop-0.46-1.2

Error message: Sep 28 09:34:41 bnofmail courierlocal:

/usr/lib/courier/bin/maildrop: Unable to create a dot-lock.

Sorry for the traffic, I figured it out.

This guy had a .mailfilter which routed his spam to a spam directory. He deleted the spam directory, so the mail had nowhere to go.
