HI,

Without changeing something I've started to get the following error:

Oct 20 22:17:56 vangelis courieresmtp:
id=00000963.4176B9D9.00002800,from=<XX.@dmj.nu>,addr=<XX.@hotmail.com>: DNS lookup failed. Oct 20 22:17:56 vangelis courieresmtp:
id=00000963.4176B9D9.00002800,from=<XX.@dmj.nu>,addr=<XX.@hotmail.com>,status: deferred

My qustion Is now, Is this an error in my configuration (I can do a
nslookup/host/dig on hotmail.com, and it returns fine) or is this an Error message from my upstream smtp gateway (my esmtproutes only contains ": mail.bluewin.ch")

nslookup only gets the A records. Mail servers need MX records.

This is a message from your server. You should not be seeing it if esmtproutes is set up correctly.
