If I use another cache dir I can use whatever cache-owner I like if I just set the sqwebmail cgi to be setuid that user.

I think my problem is that sqwebmail is trying to put cache files in my Maildir? and it is not allowed(only vmail is)

I am not certain there is a question up there, but I'll try to clarify: - You can use whatever cache-owner you like as long as the user has rwx permissions to the cache directory. - I don't think sqwebmail would ever try to put cache files in the Maildir. There is a default location for the cache in the sources, but I don't remember it since I have overriden most of the defaults of my sqwebmail.
