I am configuring courier imap/pop (version 0.47) on a debian
sarge and it must authenticate against an Active Directory,
through authdaemon ldap module.
As I'm sure Sam is about to point out, that's an ancient version, and no-one
is terribly interested in it.
(Mind you, it works very well, but the current version is significantly
improved...)
My problem is that when I upgrade my distribution, I will have problems with
their packages. It's
not recomended to use any programs installed with deb packages and others
installed from source.
I am trying to connect the pop server in several ways:
1) using the courierauthtest
2) using the telnet localhost 25 command
I hope that's "telnet localhost 110", for POP3
Correct.
3) using a email client from my network
Ummm, are the users virtual or real?
virtual
If they're real, can you login or su to them?
My problem is that for any way to connection, my logs says:
courierpop3login: chdir "": No such file or directory
On Active Directory the attribute that indicates the
LDAP_HOMEDIR is the mailMessageStore, and so I put in my authldaprc.
Can it be a bug on courier or debian?
Most likely the LDAP setup.
One pertinent question: have you setup the Maildirs?
yes. It's my problem... The log seem that the courier does not have a
directory to call,
where the correct is the Maildir directory.
Malc.
