If you only have 1 node, obviously, clients can't do SQL queries anymore. Better have at least 2.

No problem if it is not running, but you can't bring other nodes backup since they can't get the configuration anymore. You still have the SQL node (if running on other machine) which can handle failover..

Better have at least 2.
