Sounds like a problem with Thunderbird, then.
mail.log is OK mail.err is clear and my imapd conf file is quite standard
(attached). I don't know where to look. It can't be thunderbird I tried on
two different PCs with different versions: 1.5 & 2.0.0.6
I have no problems with Thunderbird. Works for me.
The only thing you can do is append "IMAPDEBUGFILE=debug.dat" to the imapd
config file (and restart imapd). This creates a debug.dat file in the
Maildir that lists all commands sent or received from the IMAP client. Note
that this creates a debug.dat file in every mail account that logs in while
this setting is in effect.
The log file is likely to be huge. Try to avoid the temptation of posting
these log files to the list. Everyone's eyes will just glaze over the large
dump file. You'll need to examine the log file yourself and try to
understand what's going on.
