The ONLY point is that couriertcpd on the server drops connections immediately IF CONTACTED FROM the server itself. Contacts from other machines are picked up as they should be. And this is exactly what bothers me. I can use the smtp.nagual.st smtp server from all points, but I wnat to use it from the server itself too.

What happens if you "telnet 127.0.0.1 25" ?

(I assume netstat shows something listening on 127.0.0.1:25)

Sure, smtp service is listening. No matter on what address I call the oucier server (127.0.0.1 ; 192.168.11.1 ; localhost ; lothlorien even the outside IP, the message is the same for all:

"Connection closed by foreign host"

No log-errors. Nothing to check. and ONLY if I call FROM the host courier is running on.
