Are t hose apache2 rpms provided by your distribution? Red Hat certianly hasn't released any apache2 rpms for the supported use. Perhaps we should wait to see what the next version of Red Hat does for apache2 directories before we tweak the rpm. The majority of users are probably still on apache1.3, so /var/www/cgi-bin is a valid location.

You could always just make a symlink.
