It was an assumption based on the fact that postfix created such directory
automatically. My post was meant more as a question then a statement. sorry.
I have read the tutorials here line by line:

but I still get the error above. I also gave permission they way it
suggested in the guide but still noting. The only difference I have from
that guide is that my user is called 'virtual' rather then 'vmail' and that
my mail should be stored in '/var/spool/mail/virtual/'. I also tried giving
permission on this directory to both 'virtual' and 'postfix' but still I get
the same error "Unable to open mailbox".
I must admit I am new to the Linux environment although I know the basic
stuff. I tried to do more re-search on the internet but I can't understand
where my configuration is bad.
