I work on a jpip geo viewer applet now and i want to break some dependancies to native libs. I also plan to integrate it to the brand new WorldWind Java

Interesting. How exactly would this work if you don't mind my asking.

I use GMLJP2 or GeoJP2 metadata to obtain the geographic information about the image. Then i can place it onto a map. The WorldWind Java Sdk is very flexible and supports java2D/jogl integration. So i will try to display a java2D BufferedImage on the surface of the earth.

Cool. When this is available please post a note on the list even if you don't
