I'll commit a patch to the Makefile that looks like this... CFLAGS+= -DA4

Another possibility would be to include -DA4 in your /etc/make.conf, CFLAGS= -pipe -O2 -DA4 ....

environmental pollution. Maybe make it timezone dependent? :-)
