----- Original Message ----- From: "Jonathan Sachs" <jsac@earthlink.net> Subject: MySQL won't start as a service in Windows 2000

I've received numerous suggestions in response to this problem. I responded to most of these privately, because while some of them were original and showed great understanding of MySQL, none of them helped me get the service to run.

Problem not shown here, hard to decide if I can help while mySql is running most excellent on all my win2000 computers of various kinds.

My thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. If somebody comes up with a new one, I may try it. But please don't be offended if I don't respond because your suggestion is something I've already tried.

Repost the problem description so that we might.
