Context aware ring tone profiles are available also for Symbian phones. It is nothing really new, but you have to buy it as a third party application.
Google Maps' "My location" feature does definitely not use cell triangulation on Java ME devices since that's technically not possible. But it does use GPS if the phone supports it, otherwise it uses the cell-ID to look up the geo-position, the accuracy depends on the cell diameter, in urban regions this can be as low as a few hundred meters in urban regions, in rural regions it may be as large as 30 kilometers. and even more. So if you have a girl friend in each town it may be perhaps useful. ;-). We have used Bluetooth curtains to switch on and off applications on Symbian phones, the accuracy is better than 5 meters, so it is suitable also for smaller churches. ;-) In more and more situations your phone will stay silent. GPS and Bluetooth are draining batteries really fast.

I'm not sure about the location thing, at least not if its relying on GPS or the like: resolution can be as bad as 150 feet or more, and if you're triangulating off cell towers (like Google Location does) it can be even worse. I'm not sure I want my phone turning down the volume every time I walk *past *the cemetery.
On the other hand, there is a nice feature that I've only seen in Windows Mobile (so far) where you can set the phone to an "Automatic" profile, where, whenever your calendar shows that you're in the midst of an appointment, it automatically sets the ringer profile to "Meeting", and then back after the appointment's ended.

I had an idea last time my phone rang in church. When I turn my volume down I should be able to hit options(or Volume Settings) and chose "Pin this Volume to this Location" Then further down I could specify "Always @ this location" (for church, cemetary) Or Set a time (Like 8:00am-5:00pm for work)
