fun watching it happen to others. I must admit that I wish there was a command like NIKE (just do it) for all documents.

if you constrain yourself far enough, there is. I (oh heresy!) use TEI for all my XML. i edit it all in emacs. I do all my conversion using XSL, and all my formatting use TeX. My universe is pretty Nike, thanks. of course for all the tribes beyond the law....

I'm trying to get my needs serviced and SGML/XML is far from perfect as I don't know how to use them properly and yet I prefer not thinking about what MS products would do to my hardware needs before doing nasty things to my documents :-).

its your brain and heart they kill. those apoplexies when it says "reboot your computer now" take years off your life.

P.s. does anyone have a small example of a table of dates/events that looks good on TeX, through SGML db4.1 and DSSSL Style Sheets 1.54 (using (open)jade/ jadetex/ dvips)???? :-)

define "looks good". presumably Norm (can I be cruel?) thinks the default printed look from his DB stylesheets "looks good". I think its looks a fright.
