Hi,

I have just installed courier-0.44.2 on my Fedora core 1.0 machine. the rpms build with only a few minor problems. I am having some trouble getting it all to work.

I have previous to this installed courier-mta several times from the tarball and configured it without any problems. I currently have 0.43 running on a redhat 8 box which I have had no problems with at all and has been running for almost a year.

However, with this new version, even when I have setup me, locals, smtpaccess etc, I am unable to telnet to port 25 and get any response from the smtp server. It just sits there like a normal open port telnet. There is something listening on the port, because when I shut it down I just get dropped straight out again. I have 5 smtp processes listening, yet if I strace them then do the telnet, nothing happens to any of the processes.

All mail gets queued with the error in the maillog: "resource temporarily unavailable" and when I try the telnet I get an error that says Feb 9 14:36:51 localhost courieresmtpd: error,relay=::ffff:192.168.1.254,msg="502 ESMTP command error",cmd: HELO Feb 9 14:36:51 localhost courieresmtpd: writev: Broken pipe
