Hi! The archives are down so I fear I have to bore you with questions that probably has been answered before.

Thanks for your patience.

q1. client bugs workaround Tried to follow manual and : a) installed courirer following manual without bug workaround option b) did some tests, sorting, getting etc does not work in netscape 4.5-4.7 c) did a ./configure and enabled client bug workaround d) did a "make" and a "make install" but no "make check" as per manual e) Restarted imap services but no difference as far as I can tell

What did I miss(besides that many think that I should loose NS)?

Ola, I have been battling with a very similar configuration this weekend. I see the same symptoms as you do above! Are there any decent IMAP clients that support SSL that we should try? I need it to run under Linux and Windows clients.

q2. SSL a) I have open ssl installed b) set the CPP flags for the precompiler before compiling courier c) make, make check, make install d) made a selfsigned cert e) started imapd-ssl.sh start f) The service is not available. I can telnet to port 143 but not any of the ssl ports.

Again same setup as above:

My symptom is if I telnet to port 993 I do get connected (rather than refused) but get disconnected straight away. I have tested anothe box I have with a SSL Imap on it (using UW IMAP and Stunnel) and this allows me to telnet to it ok.

Checked with NS and "Use SSL.."-option too. Normal imap is running. g) Pretty unsure about the etc/ configs. Using the defaults

Ideas?

q3. Qmail smptd a) Have a qmail 1.03 running for long time - works great b) With imapd running sending via qmail takes much longer, sometimes it stops for a minute then sends c) Haven't changed anything about qmail when installing courier imap

Most greatful for help since the archives are down(at least now) and my users are complaining about mail access.

Yes I'm using Qmail too, sounds like we are trying to do the same things, use Qmail for in/out mail and Courier IMAP with SSL to get at the mail from IMAP clients.

All help most appriciated,

thanks Mike
