note: there are normally A or W versions of functions requiring LPCTSTR. The A(SCII) version requires String and the W(ide) version requires WString.

e.g.

HANDLE WINAPI FindFirstFile( __in LPCTSTR *lpFileName*, __out LPWIN32_FIND_DATA *lpFindFileData* );

has:

FindFirstFileA and FindFirstFileW

LPCTSTR = const char* or const wchar_t* depending on _UNICODE

So, if you're dealing with unicode you want a WString, otherwise you want a String.
