I recently installed courier-imap-1.3.8.1.20010516 on my Linux box running slackware 7.1 and kernel 2.4.2. After installation the only changes I made to /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd was to set 'IMAPDSTART=YES'. However, when I setup an imap account using Outlook Express and first try to download the imap folders list I get the following error

'Your server has unexpectantly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.'

Additionally the Details window shows the following.

Configuration: Account: 24.221.203.13 Server: 24.221.203.13 User name: jharrissprint2 Protocol: IMAP Port: 143 Secure(SSL): 0 Code: 800ccc0f

Out of curiosity I tried 'telnet localhost 143' and got the following.

jharrissprint2@fastback:~$ telnet localhost 143 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. jharrissprint2@fastback:~$

Anyone know what the cause of the problem might be? Thanks in Advance.
