[10:53am]moog /usr/lib/courier/etc# ../bin/testmxlookup acumen-corp.com Domain acumen-corp.com: Relay: mail.acumen-corp.com, Priority: 5, Address: 216.90.94.80 Relay: 216.90.94.145, Priority: 10, Address: 216.90.94.145 [ ERROR ] Relay: mail2.acumen-corp.com, Priority: 20, Address: 216.90.94.10

Is the violation the lack of a PTR with matching A for 216.90.94.145 ??

The error is that the MX record must contain a hostname, not an IP address:

acumen-corp.com. 86400 IN MX 5 mail.acumen-corp.com. acumen-corp.com. 86400 IN MX 10 216.90.94.145. acumen-corp.com. 86400 IN MX 20 mail2.acumen-corp.com.

MX 10 is broken.
