No. The core daemon will be restarted, if it crashes.

Nope. This is to aid mail filtering for those of us who get 400+ messages per day, and need a convenient way to sort them into place.

Well at least with qmail (or look-alikes :-)), I usually take sth. like mirk@myhost.int to sort lists. On the other hand, now that I am most of the time abroad of my home-office, it's handy to have only one or two pop-accounts.
