Are these genuine Cisco parts? I know the counterfeit market for VWIC's (both T1 and E1) is really brazen, so wondering if someone latched onto the -V2 WIC's. Atleast when it was PA-FE-TX or equiv knockoffs, they were passed off price-equivalent to used Cisco gear. Looking at prices on VWIC's, there's no question as to which are which.
If they're knockoffs, they're damn good ones. Packaging and appearance of the defective ones are absolutely identical to the working one. I did not take the time to closely examining such things as the printing on the chips in terms of content, font, etc. but they were sold as genuine from a reputable distributor. The parts came in labeled static bags, with cable and documentation, in a printed cardboard box. The WIC, static bag, and box had matching serial numbers in all cases.
Fit and finish, appearance, etc. were identical to the functional unit.
This seems like an awful lot of work to produce non-working knockoffs.
and I'm seeing the same result with dirt cheap VWIC's. I'm wondering if there's just an oversupply in the market right now or what...
