Sounds like a lot of work to me. The ports dont really have a way to
address snapshots very well. of course the pkg-plist would be one
issue to combat, Too bad there isnt a way for the ports to
auto-generate the pkg-plist. Good luck you you :)
I can tell you a good reason not to do this, say someone hacked
live.com and changed some code around and made a new release with bad
code.
This has happened before, look at bitchx.org. You're more incline to
catch it if you manually upgrade the program.
