I've noticed just in playing with 1.0.3 that it's way faster than 1.0.2 and even the 1.0.3 snapshot that I'd been using (which I'd already manually upgraded from Groovy 1.5.4 to 1.5.6). Dev mode is almost as fast as prod :)
